Pakhi Miyan remains clueless

Notorious drug mafia Pakhi Miyan alias Hazi Samsul Haque Talukdar who escapaed from judicial custody is remaining clueless even as police has placed three constables under suspension citing dereliction of duties.

According to information, police investigation is still on but there is no report of any breakthrough 24 hours after his escape from the Guwahati Medical College Hospital.

Meanwhile, the Assam government has placed three constables namely Amlesh Pandey, Kalyan Gogoi and Pranjit Thakuria,under suspension as they were on duty at the GMCH when the criminal managed to escaped on Monday early in the morning.

According to police sources, Pakhi Miyan managed to escape as his attendant at the GMCH served intoxicated tea to the constables who were on duty. GMCH sources said Samsul was admitted at the GMCH on December 19 and was supposed to undergo hernia operation on Monday and the constables were playing cards with Pakhi Miyan in the general male ward of the hospital. Police have not denied role of a section of doctors in the escape of the criminal.

Supreme Court on Wednesday talked of two options before the government to end the decade old Assam-Nagaland border row.
