A travel story titled “From Himalayas to Aravali” by Dhiren Phukan, a promising writer from Nazira, was formally launched on October 29 at a ceremony held in Simaluguri town. The book was unveiled by noted poet, prose writer, critic, and Associate Professor of Assamese at Nazira College, Rajiv Borah.
The event was presided over by former president of Sivasagar District Sahitya Sabha, Joga Gogoi, who also moderated the programme. Prominent poet Anima Goswami graced the occasion as the special guest.
Speakers at the function praised Phukan’s literary effort and his vivid depiction of landscapes and cultures traversed in his journey from the Himalayas to the Aravalli range. The event concluded with an interactive session and book signing by the author.
