Bodoland Territorial Region Holds Beekeeping Awareness Program
Kokrajhar, July 3: An awareness program on developing skills for scientific beekeeping in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) was held today at the Tukrajhar Honey Processing Unit in Chirang district.
The event, organized by the National Beekeeping & Honey Mission, aimed to raise awareness about scientific beekeeping practices in the Bodoland region.
The BTR government has already trained numerous beekeepers under the National Beekeeping & Honey Mission to promote scientific beekeeping and skill development in the region.
The program included a thorough discussion on scientific beekeeping procedures among participants. Several beehives were also distributed to beekeepers to provide them with practical support.
Ranjit Basumatary, executive member of the Bodoland Territorial Region, graced the occasion and distributed the beehives. He highlighted the high potential of the Bodoland region for apiculture and mentioned the government's initiative, Bodoland Sweet Mission, launched under the BTR's Forest Department to support beekeeping.
Basumatary emphasized the BTR government's commitment to the all-round development and welfare of its citizens and its dedication to providing unwavering services across the Bodoland region.
