NTPC Bongaigaon establishes football field for Kokrajhar youth

KOKRAJHAR, October 1, 2026 — NTPC Bongaigaon has established a football field for local youth on the western side of the Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School field in Kokrajhar under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The facility was inaugurated by Pankaj Chakravarty, ACS, District Commissioner, Kokrajhar, in the presence of Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon.

The initiative aims to strengthen community sports infrastructure and provide local youth with a dedicated space for football practice and other sporting activities.

The new facility is expected to encourage greater participation in sports while promoting teamwork, discipline and a healthy and active lifestyle among young people.

Football has a strong presence in community life in the region, and the field will provide aspiring players with an opportunity to develop their skills and confidence. It will also offer a common space for young people to connect through sport and community participation.
