Ankita Dey of Lanka town under Hojai district
Ankita Dey of Lanka town under Hojai district has brought laurels for her home town as well as district by securing 10th position in High School Leaving Certificate Examination, 2020. The result of which were announced on Saturday.
Ankita is the student of Samaritan High School in Lanka. And daughter Nirmal Dey and Sudipta Dey, both are teacher's by Profession. Ankita secured total 584 marks out of 600, with letters in all subjects. In Hindi 92, English 98, General Mathematics 100, General Science 99, Social Science 95 and Advance Mathematics 100. Her percentage is 97.33%.
Speaking to the reporters, Ankita said "Passing matriculation is just the first step it is not the Ultimate end."
She said preservance, consistency, patience and confidence are the key to achieve anything in your life.
Ankita said she had confidence, that she will secure position as her all exams went good as she excepted.
Now, She want's to pursue her further studies in Science stream at Ramanujan Junior College in Nagaon and her aim is to serve the society by being a 'Doctor.
Her hobby is painting, reading;etc.
Her Parents are delighted by her achievement. They said," We knew our child will do something great, as she was dedicated and committed towards her studies."

HOJAI: The Hojai police have arrested four persons 24 hours after they allegedly shot dead a person on the town on Thursday night. Identified as Rajib Mazumdar, Yahiya Uddin, Haidar Ali and Makbul Islam they were arrested acting on some inputs after the police registered the case. After interrogation they would be produced before the court. Police further claimed to have recovered a 7.65mm pistol 2 magazines, 10 rounds of live. 7.65mm bullets, 2 live rounds of 303 bullets and 4 rounds of Cartridges from the possession of Makbul during the search operation at his premises.which was kept concealed in the house premises. HOJAI: One person sustained serious injury when unidentified miscreants fired upon him in Hojai on Thursday.The incident took place in Ahmed Nagar when two motor cycle born youths fired upon Abdur Kadir at 8.45 in the evening. A severally injured Kadir has been referred to Guwahati after primary treatment at a local hospital.Police have registered a case and operation is going on to nab the miscreants.

HOJAI: Four full grown wild jumbos died a tragic death when a speeding train rammed into a herd of wild elephants in Hojai on Saturday sending huge shock and anger across the state. The incident took place in the evening at Hawaijan area where the Guwahati)bound passenger train from Silchar rammed into a herd of wild elephants as it crossed the railway tracks. According to information the incident took place at night in Nilbagan area on NH No 54 when the speeding car knocked down Ajit Gogoi WT-OPR( Police Personnel) as he was returning to home from duty.
