Kali Puja and Dipawali celebration in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: The Kali Puja and Dipawali festival was celebrated in Kokrajhar, heart of BTAD administration today with lighting reflections and beautiful showcase of fire crackers.

The Kali Puja and Dipawali have been celebrating as festival of lights and offered prayer and worship to the Goddess Kali.

Various Puja mandhaps have been decorated with beautiful lighting scenes where devotees and visitors thronged at the mandhap to offer prayer and worship during the celebration.

Buildings are seeing illuminated with lighting reflections which has made strong amusement amongst the citizens.

Women devotees designed and create attractive arts in their respective residential complex and street buildings.

The Kali Puja and Dipawali festival was organised at Thanapara Kali mandir with a week long programme scheduled in Kokrajhar.

Meanwhile,district administration,Kokrajhar and police administration have been keeping strong observation to maintain healthy law and order environment in the district during the puja celebration.

District administration has promulgated 144 CrPC in the district to maintain peace and tranquility amongst all sections of the society.

On the other hand,several students union and social organisation including Bodoland Students Union,Bodoland Janajati Suraksha Mancha have urgedupon the district administration to check anti-social activities,gambling activities during the puja festival celebration.

They demanded strict initiatives against the anti-social incidents,gambling environment and make a healthy society.

Assam Social welfare minister Pramila Rani Brahma, ABSU president Pramod Boro,BTC executive members Rajiv Brahma,Bonzar Daimary,social activist Jyotika Brahma,Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary have extended their Kali Puja and Dipawali greetings to all citizens of the state on the occasion.
