Parties welcome newly members

As many as 22 member and supporters from AIUDF and BPF party joined in UPP at a meeting held at Dawaguri ahead few days of the assembly second phase election to be slated to be held on April 11. The joining members in UPP included 13 from AIUDF and 9 from BPF party. BTC MCLA Jiran Basumatary and UPP candidate Somnath Narzary welcome the new members and felicitated them with Aronai. Meanwhile, 43 Congress member and supporters from Titaguri block Congress joined in BPF party at a party meeting at Salakati in Kokrajhar on Sunday. Former BTC executive member and president of Kokrajhar district BPF Derhasat Basumatary welcome and felicitated the newly joined members.

Jail Bhoro program of CPI (ML)

Barpeta district CPI(ML) today observed jail-bhoro programme protesting against the skyrocketing price hike and the continuous corruption in implementing the various NREGA schemes of the entire district. The district unit took out a procession with slogan against the governments towards the deputy commissioner's office and in front of Deputy commissioner's office they staged demonstration. The urged the government for controlling the skyrocketing price hike which has made the lives of the general people measurable. On the other hand the corruption in NREGA schemes also harassed the people depriving the proper persons.

Violence revisits BTAD: 2 shot dead

After a brief halt, violence revisits Bodoland. Two persons were killed in two different shoot outs in the BTAD areas on Saturday. The first one incident took place in Gossaigaon when one minority youth died in miscreant firing at the paddy field. The another incident took place in Kokrajhar where another youth lost his life. Dreaded militant held in Haflong

Security forces, engaged in the counterinsurgency operation in Dima Hasao district, achieved a major success when a dreaded militant was captured on Wednesday.       Identified as David Kemprai, the 45 year old Action Dimasa leader was held during a combing operation in Mahur in the afternoon.         Kemprai was the main culprit behind the killing of Rajiv Pathak, the PHE executive engineer in Haflong who was shot dead by militant inside his chamber two months back.
