Doctors stage protest

Members from Indian Medical Association (IMA) of Kokrajhar branch has carried out a candle light rally in Kokrajhar town on Tuesday evening in protest against the brutal killing of Dr Deben Dutta, a doctor in Teok tea estate hospital. The rally was started from Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital complex traversed to RNB Road, JD Road,fly over and concluded at the same point.

Medical fraternities have strongly protested the brutally attack and killing of Dr Dutta.

Doctor and medical staffs participated the rally with banner, placards and demanded strict actions to the culprits.

Jorhat police so far arrested 30 persons involved in the gruesome crime.

Journalisn workshop held

A day-long workshop on journalism was held at Bodofa House, Baganshali in Kokrajhar on Wednesday. Young journalists from different six districts of the state- Sonitpur, Dhemaji, Udalguri, Baksa, Chirang and Kokrajhar participated the workshop. KOKRAJHAR: Goreswar Town Football Club of Baksa beat Udalguri's Bhergaon Football Club 4-0 goals to lift the trophy in the final match of the BTAD-Army football premier league-2019 held at Kokrajhar Govt HS & MP School playground, Kokrajhar on Sunday. Review committee visits detention center

KOKRAJHAR: An eight-member delegation of  a special review committee on detention center, led by chairman Debojit Mukherjee visited the detention center in Kokrajhar on Tuesday. The delegation members include Debojit Mukherjee, deputy inspector of police (Border) and chairman of the committee, district judge (retired) H Singh, IGP of Prisons Barnali Sharma, D Saikia, AIG of Prisons and several senior police officials. KOKRAJHAR: The National Press Day-2019 was observed in four districts of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) on Saturday. Indonesia bags first spot in paragliding championship

KOKRAJHAR: Indonesian paragliders have won first prizes in the first-ever Bodoland international Paragliding accuracy championship-2019. The event concluded on Thursday after four day programme at Dangdupur Hill in Kokrajhar district. 68 participants from 11 countries participated in the championship and displayed their paragliding skills. 22 foreign paragliders participanted in the event. KOKRAJHAR: Security forces apprehended three cadres of the Saoraigwra faction of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB-S) in the India-Bhutan border area in Chirang district on Monday evening.
