Bidyasagar Narzary conferred Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma award
Noted writer Bidyasagar Narzary has been conferred Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma award at a programme in Kokrajhar.
A birth centenary seminar on Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma was started today with two day programme scheduled held here at Science College, Kokrajhar auditorium.
The award has been constituted by Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Trust to recall contributions and dedication of Gurudev Kalicharan who has been well known as social reformer,spiritual leader in the state of Assam. The award comprising of a citation, Aronai, cash Rs. 50,000 and many gifts in the name of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma,who born in Parbatjhora. Padmashri (Dr) Kameswar Brahma,former president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha given away the award. Narzary was former director of Press Information Bureu for NE region. The seminar was organized by Sahitya Akademi and Bodo Sahitya Sabha,which was chaired by Toren Boro, president of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha.
Padmashri (Dr) Kameswar Brahma, former president of the Bodo sahitya sabha, Dr Anil Boro, Prof Anjalee Basumatary, Kokrajhar Govt College, Prof Indira Boro, Bodoland University were attended as resource persons on the occasion.
Among others, Dr Devendra Kumar Devesh,regionla secretary of the Sahitya Akademi,Eastern Region,Gopinath Borgoyary,noted writer were prominent attendees on the occasion.
Organiser of the seminar and Sahitya Akademi member,Dr Ajit Boro told that the seminar has been emphasized to bring alive of the ideology and philosophies of the Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma,who had contributed a lot to the society of the state.He said that Sahitya Akademi and Bodo sahitya sabha jointly organising the seminar to make healthy memoration of the Gurudev among society.He said that Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma award has been confering every year from last year and this year conferee to noted writer Bidyasagar Narzary.

One after another case of electrocution seem to have struck shock and anger in BTAD areas these days where several people have lost their lives during the last couple of months. The recent one incident took place on Sunday where a minor boy died and seven others sustained serious injury in Chirang district. The incident that sent shock in the entire area took place at Pakriguri village near Basugaon. According to information, the incident took place in the afternoon when a 33,000 voltage electric wire fell at a pond as a group of children swimming there. BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary inaugurated the newly constructed Dhamma Dipa School, a school of universal teaching at Bamungaon on Sunday in Kokrajhar district. BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary inaugurated newly constructed Irrigation project over Gaurang River at Bamungaon in Kokrajhar district on Sunday. The project was constructed under 2012-13 financial year from BTC administration to facilitate water distribution along the paddy field among farmers in the area. Mohilary said that this project will facilitate waters among farmers which covers large numbers of villages. He said it was implemented for the welfare of the cultivators in the area.
