BTC chiefHagrama Mohilary inaugurated newly constructed Irrigation project over Gaurang River at Bamungaon in Kokrajhar district on Sunday. The project was constructed under 2012-13 financial year from BTC administration to facilitate water distribution along the paddy field among farmers in the area. Mohilary said that this project will facilitate waters among farmers which covers large numbers of villages. He said it was implemented for the welfare of the cultivators in the area. Kokrajhar, May 2: A search operation that began yesterday evening concluded today with the recovery of three bodies from the Beki River near Manas National Park in Baksa district.
The three youths, identified as Deep Saha, Raj Saha, and Abhijit Karmakar, all from Barpeta Road, reportedly went missing after entering the river for a swim on Wednesday evening. Local sources informed that authorities, including the police, SDRF, and local residents, launched a search operation late Wednesday night.
"The bodies were fished out of the river this afternoon after a thorough search," a local source said.

KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar. The incident occurred along ride no. 1 under the Jharbari range of the Haltugaon forest division in Kokrajhar district, where the smuggler was fatally shot while transporting logs on a cycle from deep within the forest.
