Assam bandh affects Nagaon

After the serial bomb blast at various places of Assam,various organisation has decided to protest against the government's failure.The blast was so devastating that it can be termed as Bloody Thursday,taking away the lives of many innocents.Today, BJP has called for the 12 hrs Assam Bandh in connection with the serial blast which completely rocked the state.In Nagaon,all the shops and business centres including educational institures remained closed.Though in some areas, shops were open but the Bandh activist closed them.The national highway remain deserted for the Bandh.

The Army on Thursday claimed that Hira Sarania, the hardcore leader with the ULFA’s crack unit 709 is under mental pressure. Now he cannot repose faith even on his bodyguards. Several people have been injured while police shelled tear gas to disperse the protesters who blocked the National Highways 37 at Naduwa in Upper Assam's Dibrugarh district on Thursday. The protesters demand steps to check erosion that poses a serious threat to Rahmoria area of Dibrugarh district. The blockade, which began in the morning disrupted the traffic movement and the district administration rushed police and paramilitary forces to the spot. NEW DELHI: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is attending a meeting of Chief Ministers on Thursday to discuss the state's security scenario. The Opposition Asom Gana Parishad will approach the Election Commission alleging violation of model code by the ruling party in the panchayat election.Addressing a press conference in the city on Wednesday party president Brindabon Giswami said they the ruling party leaders and workers are using the government machinery in the electioneering.
