Road set to get lease of life

Namrup: A vital road is set to get a fresh lease of life in Namrup much to the major relief for around 5,000 local residents in Jyoti Nagar Pevar area.

Namrup Town Committee Chairman Neetu Sonowal Buragohain started the construction work of the 305.00 metre road from Fedar Ali to Dilli Dowanina Gaon at a brief function on Thursday which will cost Rs 10.44 lakhs. 

Buragohain said, “We  will work to uplift the entire area. I do urge people of the area to keep a close watch on the contractor and his quality of the work.”

BJP State Executive Ranjit Boruah, party leaders Suren Gogoi,  Bhabha Gogoi also attended the function.
