Kokrajhar: NRC centres in BTAD areas are teeming with people who are waiting in the serpentine queue to check their names in the updated NRC draft published on Sunday night. In Kokrajhar nearly 65% applicants have found their names in the draft. Other applicants are waiting for the next draft which is expected next month.
Talking to Assam Times, Kokrajhar DC Niranjan Baruah said," the mood is quite peaceful in all NRC centres where the citizens are checking their names." In Chirang, 64.35 % citizens are finding place in the first NRC draft. "We are very happy to have seen our names on the new year's day," said a senior citizen in Kokrajhar.
A BTC MCLA from Fakiragram constituency, Abdul Ali Mondal's name is missing. However, his 4-years-old grand-daughter's name is there in the updated draft. "My name is there in the NRC draft. But my wife's name is missing in it. I will keep waiting for the next draft," said Akbar Hussain, a resident at Bhotgaon in Kokrajhar.

The Climate Group, collaborating with the Swaniti Initiative, plans to train a cohort of climate fellows in selected Indian states as part of the “State Climate Fellows” initiative.
