Hope for young men

Borengajuli Army Camp under XIV Dogra Regiment in collaboration with the Bhergaon District Committee Youth, BPF jointly undertook an initiative to motivate and guide the young men to join the Army and Assam Rifles recently.

As part of the initiative the units established Help Desks at Bhergaon, Borengajuli, Kochubil, Tangla, Khoirabarii and Kailaigaon to provide single window information on recruitment procedures into the defence services.

Information pertaining to the eligibility conditions, selection parameters, conduct of the recruitment process and entrance examinations is provided to the aspirants. These young men are also given a free medical checkup and are thereafter given sustained guidance and training to prepare them for the recruitment.

These initiatives, a first of their kind in the district have generated tremendous confidence, enthusiasm and interest in the people to join the defence services and are in consonance with the primary interest of the Army and Assam Rifles in assisting the youth of the area to become useful citizens of the nation in this erstwhile militancy affected district.

Woman attacked with blade

A woman was attacked by sharp blade by a group of unidentified miscreants at midnight of 13 June, the woman has been identified as Rashmita Tanti (50) wife of Kandhara Tanti an inhabitant of Budlapara Chowk under Dimakuchi PS of Udalguri district. It is informed that a group of men came in and attacked while she was asleep. The victim has been severely injured and has been rushed to Tangla PHC for treatment by local people and police. Python recovered

A large python approximately 5ft weighing 5 kg was recovered at 2 No. Borengajuli (Orangbasti) village of Rajagarh near the Indo-Bhutan border on Monday morning. Unabated Man-elephant conflict in Udalguri

Attacks by wild elephants continue in villages along the India-Bhutan border in Assam's Udalguri district with three people being trampled to death within a week this month and several houses being damaged. NDA coaching for college students

A day long NDA coaching program was organized by Indian Army (Red Horn Division) of Borengajuli Army camp in collaboration with Bhergaon Block Development Committee at Bhergaon Sub-Divisional (Civil) Office on Tuesday. A good number of college students in and around Bhergaon attended the program where Major Ashish Jaswal spoke to the students and motivated them to excel in education field and go ahead with entrance exams like UPSC, ACS, NDA etc., BTC Deputy Speaker Nerswn Bodo, Bhergaon Block Secretary Ajay Singh Gourh and many others graced the program and encouraged the students.

Career Counselling Program held at Dimakuchi
