Financial aids to students extended

Ten economically weak meritorious students who had performed excellently well in the last HSLC and HS examination in 2017 and two critically ill person of Kalaigaon neighborhood were given financial aids at a function titled "Sadichhar Abeli" at Kalaigaon on July 29 recently.The event was organized by DKN (Durgat Kalyan Nyas", an NGO working hard for providing support to economically backward or physically unwell students of the district for last couple of years.The DKN was formed in 2007 on May 10 with the personal financial contributions of a few noble citizens of Kalaigaon to provide support to needy people living below poverty line.Since 2009,the Nyas has been supporting financial aids to people in need.The event was held at the premises of Revenue Circle Office,Kalaigaon which was presided over by its president and social minded civil officer DN Hazarika.Ten numbers of financially weak meritorious students were given an amount of rupees two thousand each.Other two critically ill persons were also given an amount of three thousand each.It needs mentioning that among ten meritorious students there were a few who had scored more than eighty percent marks in the last HSLC and HS examinations defying all challenges. Maheswar Boro,MLA, Kalaigaon attended the presentation ceremony as the chief guest while Ghateswar Barua,Gauri Sankar Das,Tarun Baishya attended as distinguished guests.Mouzadar Kamal Prasad Sarma offered vote of thanks at the end.
