Inter-Institutional debate on May 3

The 8th Manash Borah Memorial Northeast Inter-Institutional Debating Competition will be held at ITA, Machkhowa, Guwahati at 11 am on 31 May 2017. The competition is sponsored by the Manash Borah Memorial Trust and it is organized by Old Boys Association, Sainik School Goalpara (OBASSG). The Competition will be inaugurated by Prof. Amarjyoti Choudhury, former Pro-VC, Tezpur University while the Speaker will be Dr. Monirul Hussain, former Head, Dept of Political Science, Gauhati University. The topic for this year’s competition is in the opinion of the house “use of Social Media has increased indifference towards society”

Debaters can speak either in Assamese or English. An institution can be represented by a team of two debaters, one speaking for the motion and the other against the motion. The competition is open to students from class XI to PG onwards. There is no registration fee for the participants. The Best Team will get the Manash Borah Memorial Running Trophy while the best three debaters will get cash prizes of Rs. 7000/- Rs. 5000/- and Rs. 3000/- respectively. Youth for Humanity, a Guwahati based Non Governmental Organisation  organised a free health check up camp on 19th July at Kalyan Bhawan in Ganeshguri . This health camp was organised in association with Apollo Clinic and supported by Shree Kalyan Charitable Trust.
