RGU ranked among India’s top 100 institutions in Nature Index 2026

The Assam Royal Global University (RGU) has secured the 29th position in Physical Sciences and 88th position overall in the Nature Index 2026 India Rankings, reaffirming its growing stature in research and academic excellence.

With the achievement, RGU has become the only private university from the seven sister states of the Northeast to be ranked among the top 100 institutions in India by the Nature Index for the second consecutive year.

According to the university, the Department of Physics secured the 29th rank nationally in Physical Sciences, while RGU attained an overall All India Rank of 88 with a cumulative credit point of 2.95. The ranking is based on research output published during the assessment period from March 1, 2025, to February 28, 2026.

Vice Chancellor Prof. A.K. Buragohain said the recognition reflects the university’s commitment to research, innovation and academic excellence, adding that the institution aims to further strengthen its research output in the coming years.
