A large python approximately 5ft weighing 5 kg was recovered at 2 No. Borengajuli (Orangbasti) village of Rajagarh near the Indo-Bhutan border on Monday morning. The snake was recovered at the backyard of Usha Deka. The snake was handed over to 37th Bn SSB Nalapara BOP officials by the villagers at a Civic Action Program.

Baby Elephant found dead in Udalguri

The mysterious death of an elephant calf casts no less spell of shadow in Udalguri on Monday. According to Ranjit Tanti, a wildlife activist, the calf, aged around 8, was found dead at a paddy field in Jorpukhuri village under Nonai forest range. A team of forest officials rushed to the spot after some villagers informed them about the dead calf and postmortem of the carcass was on the spot and buried. Churches in Dimakuchi on Tuesday observed 500th reformation anniversary holding exhibitions, conferences, panel discussions along with other parts of the globe. Gold cup clash on in Dimakuchi

The 22nd edition of the Bodoland Gallants Gold Cup Football Turnament 2017 is going to be held at Dimakuchi Stadium in Udalguri district of Assam from today. The tournament is an All India Level Football Tournament affiliated under  and is jointly organized by Dimakuchi Ancholic Committee, ABSU and Dimakuchi Sports Association in the fond memory of Bodoland Martyrs. Youth found dead

Body of one Bikash Munda (18), an Adivasi youth was recovered Monday morning in No.1 sonajuli area under Dimakuchi, Udalguri. Police recovered the body from his uncle’s house and further investigations are on.   It has been reported that Bikash Munda son of Rantu Munda had gone to sleep at his uncle’s house adjacent to Nengta Bodo’s house who have fled from their residence since morning. The mobile phone was found at Nengta Bodo’s residence. Injuries on the body were found. Police have taken the body for post mortem.

Elephant terror in Udalguri

A herd of wild elephants unleashed no less of terror in Borengajuli Tea Estate in Tangla killing a 35 year old man on Monday.  Identified as ArjunMunda, son of BirshaMunda was trampled to death early in the Sunday morning as he was collecting twigs.
