International Worker’s Day was also observed on Monday at Tangla commercial hub of Udalguri district on Monday. The programme was organised by Centre for Indian Trade Unions(CITU) at Bordoloi Bhawan of Tangla which was participated by men and women alike from different corners of the district.Nurul Amin President of All Assam Nirman Shramik Union(AANSU) Udalguri district unit hoisted organisational flag which was followed by floral tribute to martyrs. A rally was also taken out throughout the town were men and women numbering no less than 400 holding red flags and shouting slogans 'We are united' 'Stop expoliting labours' hit the streets.A general meeting was also held at Bordoloi Bhawan hall were Rinku Baruah Secretary of AANSU district unit called on the working class to stay united to fight against the onslaught of pro-capitalist governments both at the Centre and the State."The working class are a important resource of the country. ", Baruah added.Nurul Amin President of AANSU district unit observed that since generations the working class have been deprived of due right,expolited by the elite class."The hopes and aspirations of labours have been shattered as the saffron party has been adopting pro-corporate laws detrimental to the working class "alleged Nurul Amin.Amin.He further stated that the wages of labour are not uniform while in Kerala ,Karnataka a wage earner earns Rs.800-900 and ANM workers receive honourarium of Rs.10-12 K. In Assam a wage earner barely manages to earn Rs.200-300 and ANM workers receive as low as 3 K."The wages have not been in sync with price upsurge of essential commodities. "Amin added.
