Storm hit electricity services, uproots trees in Kokrajhar

The electricity posts were uprooted which forced to disruption of power services besides several trees and some domestic house and huge properties were damaged due to strong stormed affected late last night at Kanthalguri,Shukanjhora village under Fakiragram PS in Kokrajhar district.

The rain along with storms reached by 9 pm on Tuesday night which caused several properties in the area. The electricity post near Kanthalguri LP School was uprooted in the storm which disrupted power services since last night.

The storm also damaged several houses of the citizens in the tempest as trees were saw huge uproot. A wedding pandal was also seeing totally caused in the last night storm in the village.

Villagers come out in the morning to clear up uprooted trees along the road. The storm was so heavy which had caused several properties in the village, said a villager.

They demanded early measures on the storm hit village in the region and urged for necessary steps into affected village, said a villager.

A wedding party pandal has also been totally caused in the storm that hit normal citizens.

Security forces belonging to police, army and Cobra arrested a cadre of Kamatapur Liberation Organization(KLO) from Bajugaon area under Gossaigaon PS yesterday night in Kokrajhar district. Two girls hailed from Kokrajhar district were rescued from Muradabad of Delhi and Sersha district of Haryana    and brought back them in Kokrajhar on Monday.  Shyamal Prasad Saikia, Kokrajhar SP told the reporters on Monday that police rescued two girls from different two places in Delhi and Haryana state on May 13, who were hailed from Gossaigaon and Bishmuri area of Kokrajhar district.
