Bwisagu festival at UN Academy in Kokrajhar
Students, teacher and guardians have joined hands with great enthusiasts in the Bwisagu festival celebration being organized at UN Academy complex in Kokrajhar district on Saturday.
The UN Academy, a private managed Bodo medium school has organized the Rongjali Bwisagu festival for the first time at school complex in Kokrajhar where student, teacher and guardians took part with enthusiasts’ moment with traditional song as well as music instruments like Kham, Siphung, Jotha, Gwmkhao etc.
A Bwisagu dance competition was also organized among students on the occasion.Students,teacher are presented good Bwisagu song and dance with traditional music instruments.
Krishna Gopal Basumatary, director of UN Academy said that the school has been celebrated the Bwisagu to create cultural activities among student as well society.
'Bwisagu/Bihu is our national festival where we take enjoyment through our traditional song and music which gets opportunity to come limelight', Basumatary said.We are getting an environement by organizing programme in the school, he added.
Urkhao Gwra Brahma, former MP and chairman of UN Academy Board said that the school has been organizing the Bwisagu in its initiative. ‘This is a festival of creating cultural integration in the region that give a cultural activity arena’, Brahma said.
Guardians of the students have appreciated the Bwisagu festival organized by UN Academy authority for the first time ever in the school.

KOKRAJHAR: The Diamond Jubilee celebration of Kokrajhar Govt College was concluded on Sunday with a week long programme held at the college complex.

More than sixteen hundred NDFB cadres today formally laid down arms.
In a ceremony organised at GMCH auditorium in the presence of chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal 1615 cadres of the outfit submitted their arms before the government authority.
Welcoming them to the mainstream chief minister Sonowal hoped that the Paresh Baruah-led ULFA(I) would follow the path of the NDFB.
A few days ago the government signed a tripritite peace treaty with all the factions of the NDFB. In the treaty the Centre and state government, reportedly, promised to upgrade the BTAD as BTR.
Several organisations including AAKRASU and ABAMSU have reportedly, called a 12-hour-long Assam bandh on January27 in protest against proposed UTC for BTAD.
These organisations are apprehensive that the Union government is going to upgrade the BTC as UTC.
Already, they have warned the Union government to abdicate such move.
Several organistions have expressed resentment over the Centre's move to upgrade the Bodo Territorial Council as Union Territorial Council.
According to sources the Centre would soon sign a peace pact with the NDFB .
In the pact upgradation of the BTC as a UTC would likely to take place, sources revealed.
Opposing the move AKRASU, ABAMSU and many other organistaions of the BTAD have warned the Union government to abdicate such decision.
These organisations have also termed the proposal as undemocratic.
