Udalguri DC inaugurates science building
The new building of Aryabhatta Science Centre at Kajiamati HS under Udalguri block has recently been inaugurated on April 11 at 1 pm.Sadhana Hojai,Deputy Commissioner,Udalguri formally inaugurated the new Aryabhatta science Centre,Udalguri block building in presence of hundreds of people including students and teachers.It needs mentioning that Aryabhatta Science Centers had been established in 219 blocks in Assam during 2007-08 year by government of Assam under the aegis of ASTEC (Assam Science Technology & Environment Council) Guwahati.ASTEC has already provided all block level Aryabhatta Science Centres of Assam with scientific instruments and sophisticated telescopes for night sky observation has already provided the centers with a minimum financial grants of rupees four lacs each to all Aryabhatta Science Centers of Assam.
The Deputy Commissioner and other guests expressed satisfaction at the beautiful construction of the two room science building with an amount of just four lacs of rupees.An inaugural meeting was held at the school premises on the occasion of inauguration of the science building at Kajiamati HS. Ganesh Mushahari,Headmaster of the school and secretary of Udalguri District Academic Council in his welcome address thanked ASTEC, Udalguri district administration and District Coordinator,Aryabhatta Science Centre,Udalguri for providing the financial and technical aid for the construction of the new science building at Kajiamati HS.Deputy Commissioner Sadhana Hojaiin her speech as the chief guest spoke on the role of the teachers and guardians living in villages in molding scientific mindset of students.
"Scientific temperament among students,teachers and guardians can change the society in removing blind belief and superstition in the society and teachers can play an important riole always",she said.She also advised teachers to help students to make habit of doing small experiments with the instruments supplied by ASTEC.The meeting was also addressed by Jayanta Das,District Coordinator,ASC, Udalguri. Several distinguished people including Rabi Ram Ramchiari,Asstt Headmaster of Kajiamati HS;Hareswar Basumatari, Asstt Planning Officer,Udalguri and Manilal Boro,JE,PWD (Bld) also attended the inaugural ceremony.
