Police occupation of Kalaigaon and Tangla PWD IB resented

The long time police occupation of Kalaigaon and Tangla PWD Inspection Bungalows (IB) have been resented by people. Both the IBs had been the public places for meeting visiting government officials and public representatives. Both these buildings also served as public meeting places for discussion of constructive social activities since long back. Unfortunately, the Kalaigaon PWD IB has been occupied by Assam police personnel for nearly a year. The IB has now been like a police transit camp causing damage to the building.Local BTC EM Jagadish Sarkar too expressed his displeasure as he too could not avail the building for meeting people.Media fraternity of Kalaigaon too have suffered a lot because of the police occupation. On the other hand Tangla PWD IB has been under Assam police occupation since the creation of Bhergaon sub-division in 2003.

Presentltly the Tangla PWD IB has been used as the Sub-divisional police Head Office, where as it should have been stationed at sub-divisional HQ at Bhergaon situated at a distance of 15 km from Tangla town. It needs mention that the construction of the permanent sub-divisional police HQ complex at Bhergaon had been started several years back. But the construction of police HQ office building never completed. Gross anomalies of fund has been alleged by people beacause of substandard construction works.People of Kalaigaon and Tangla urge government immediately to direct police to vacate both the PWD IBs and to reopen them for public and official use.
