Chahatey Ram General Manager, North East Frontier Railways, conducted annual inspection of Rangia-Rangapara North section along with his team comprising of senior officers on Saturday. Inspection of stations, colonies, bridges, level crossing gates and ongoing works by local registered contractors were done. Ram carried out inspection in Rangapara North, Mazbat, Rowta Bagan, Udalguri and Tangla railway stations.
During his brief stopover at Tangla railway station local people, members of student bodies feted him. ABSU and AABYSF activists jointly submiitted a 16-point demand memorandum citing various necessities and demands including stoppage of superfast and Naharlagun-New Delhi AC express trains at Tangla railway station. They also submitted memorandum citing various necessities including potable drinking water facilities, ATM facility, waiting room among others.
Rajya Sabha MP Santius Kujur also apprised GM Ram on the people's demand for stoppage of Naharlagun-Delhi AC express at Tangla railway station.
