Goodwill football cup from Jan 4

The second edition of BTC-Army goodwill football cup would started from January 4 next at SAI SAG centre in Kokrajhar district involving four districts of the council.

Speaking the reporters today at a joint Press Conference held at BTC Secretariat conference hall Doneswar Goyary, BTC executive member for sports & youth welfare department and Jaiveer Singh,CO of Rajput army told that the BTC-Army Goodwill Football Cup-2016 will be beginning from January 4 next with four days programme scheduled.

Goyary and Singh said that the football cup has been organising to tap the unexplored potential of the youth in BTAD region as also to promote unity and spread goodwill among the peoples. 'The event is intended to showcase sporting talent in the region and inspire youth to pursue sports. Scouts from four ditsricts are participating the event to identify the budding talent and guide players on the way ahead’,they said.

The event will provide a platform for people from all sections of society to come together for a common passion, thereby enhancing the spirit of unity while promoting peaceful in the region', Goyary said adding that BTC administration and Army have for the second time joined hands to provide a common platform for unleashing the passion of youth in the four districts in the council to demonstrate their talent in the most popular football sport in the area. He said that there are four teams, one each from four districts are participating in the cup and final match would be played on January 7(2017) next at SAI SAG ground in Kokrajhar.

The winning team would be awarded a trophy and cash two lakh and runner-up be given away a trophy and cash one lakh in the final match. A high level official meeting of BTC and Army was held at BTC Secretariat with Doneswar Goyary, BTC EM in the chair in the presence Hitten Shany,Brigadier of Army today in Kokrajhar.

Dr. Boro has been named for the translation of her book Hirimba (originally written in Assamese by Jayanti Gogoi) Presently, Boro is the head of the department of Bodo at Bodoland University. BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar.
