Surrendered NDFB cadres meet concludes
The 3rd annual convention of the All Surrender NDFB welfare association was concluded with two-day long programme scheduled at Bodofa Cultural Complex in Kokrajhar on Monday.
The All Surrender NDFB Welfare Association has urged NDFB (Songbijit faction) to avoid arms struggle for the peace parley to meet healthy peace and integration in the region.
Rajni Narzary, Secretary of the association said that no issue and problems could be solved through arms struggle, which is why NDFB-Songbijit faction should come forward to the main stream avoiding arms fight in the region. He said that there are still over 1100 cadres of the NDFB surrendered since 1998 to till in the state. He said surrender cadres of the militant outfit have not been fully rehabilitated. He said that surrender cadres are deprived from getting governments promises for financial aid and compensations during the surrendered times. He has alleged that government never think welfare for the surrender cadres in the state. He has demanded early release of pending financial aid for cadres and compensations to the killed surrender cadres.
Narzary said that his association supports to the early solution of ongoing peace process with NDFB (P). He has emphasized of integrated organization avoiding factions of the organization to meet healthy peace and unity within community. The association formed new body of the association with Samendra Basumatary as president and Rajni Narzary as secretary along with 68 members.
BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary, Janamahan Moshahary, chairman, Ex BLT welfare society, former MLA Hemendra Nath Brahma was prominent attendees on the occasion.
The association resolves various resolutions, which includes meeting with Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal within this month to put pressure over solution of grievances and issues of the association, withdrawal of cases of the surrendered cadres, provide compensation to the kin of the killed cadres.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district.
