Cheque distributed

A total 156 beneficiaries were given way cheque under Project Ashyas from Assam police, those are violent victims today at a programme held at Kokrajhar Police station in Kokrajhar district.

Each of beneficiaries was given way cheque of Rs.12, 000 as per their family childrens taking educational maintenance.

Prakash Medhi, Kokrajhar DSP graced the function as guest and distributed the cheques among beneficiaries in the district.

‘The Project Ashyas has been giving facilitating financial supports to the violent victims’ families so that their children can take educational careers in their life’,said a senior official of police administration.

Road mishap kill 2 in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: Two people were killed on the spot in a late-night road accident in Balajan Pakriguri under Kokrajhar police station. According to police, two people were travelling on a bike and met with mishaps that claimed two people on the spot at a roadside parking dumper in Pakriguri along JD Road late at night around 2.15 am on Tuesday night under Kokrajhar police station. Badminton Championship Concludes

Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district. All together 95 teams of across the state  participated in a championship that saw a healthy sporting environment in the region which was organised by Kokrajhar District Badminton Association (KDBA). Lightning kills 3 in Chirang

At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon. According to the source, three persons have died and several other people from Anthaibari area received serious injuries due to heavy lightning this afternoon while people were watching a football match at Anthaibari playground. The injured persons were immediately rushed to the Bengtol missionary hospital where three persons were declared brought dead. Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science Centre has been disconnected from electricity supply due to non payment of bills

Electricity to the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science center was cut off because there's an outstanding bill of 1.83 lakh. Due to power cutoff, the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science centre is currently not functional. Police launched crackdown on NLFB

Police administration have vowed for a strict operation against NLFB in Kokrajhar district as NIA has so far circulated most wanted and head count Rs. 10 lakh against the leader of NLFB M Batha. Citizens upset over state budget

Various parties and citizens of Kokrajhar, including CPI-M, have criticized the Budget presented in the ongoing Budget Assembly session on Friday by Finance minister Ajanta Neog for 2021-22 financial year.
