Bodoland Students Union burnt effigy of Kokrajhar Lok Sabha MP Naba Kumar Sarania for his alleged communal statement at Parliament regarding Balajan Tinali bazar terror attack on August 5 last in Kokrajhar district. 

The students union protested Sarania shouting slogans and burnt effigy this morning at 9 am along JD Road near Bajwi Hotel in Kokrajhar.Sarania kept his communal statement on August 8 alleging that BTC region has been facing several situations like communal tension since 1990 and it was also tried to create communal problem in the region.

 Students union strongly slammed MP Sarania for his anti integration remarks on BTC area.Students union warns Sarania not to keep more such derogative comment and asked to avoid such immature remarks on the situation. 

Swgwmshar Basumatary, president of the students union condemned Saranias' remarks on firing in Kokrajhar.He has alleged that Sarania have no any input about incident which caused innocent people in the area.Sarania being people's representative in the Parliament does not have proper documentation, Basumatary said.

NDFB-S cadre killed, arms recovered

Security forces today carried out an operation against the militants outfit inside Ripu reserve forest along the Indo-Bhutan boder in which a top cadre NDFB-S rebel was killed. One shot dead

One person identified as Komin Boro, 30 was shot dead by unidentified miscreant at Kawlibhanga village under Tangla PS in Udalguri district today. According to source, two motorcycle borne unidentified miscreants shot dead Komin from close range and died on the spot.Police officials rushed the spot to take stock about incident. Two empty cartridges of 9mm pistol were recovered from the spot.

Two NSLA arrested

Two cadre of the National Santhali Liberation Army (NSLA) were arrested from Pakhihaga area, in a joint operation launched by army, police and cobra under Gossaigaon subdivision in Kokrajhar district late last night. They were Joseph Hembrom and Sushil Hebrom,were involved with extortion,money collection,logistic supports to the militant outfits. Two riffle and live bullets recovered from them.
