No halt in rhino poaching

Poaching refuses die down in the flooded Kaziranga National Park where 3 rhinos were killed for horns during the last 24 hours. That too in the presence of forest minister Pramila Rani Brahma, who arrived in the national park on Wednesday afternoon.

Poachers have killed a full grown rhino on Thursday wee hours when a huge portion of the world heritage site is still reeling under flood.
The incident took place in the Bagori range where the forest guards spotted the carcass in the morning. Poachers were believed to have taken away the horn.
The incident took place a day after poachers killed a full grown female rhino along with her calf on Wednesday.
A section of the KNP officials has tried to blame it all on the flood. But the missing horn has proved, beyond doubt, that it was case of rhino poaching.

Lockdown extended till May 31

New Delhi : The Center has extended the lock down till May 31 with a slew of relaxations.  But these relaxations were on expected line.  PM Narendra Modi kept the nation on guessing giving hint of the lock down with exceptional standard operating procedures. Civilian hurt in Nagaon police firing

Sonowal wants extension of lockdown

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that he has urged the Centre to allow the state to continue the lock down by 2 more weeks. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Friday, Sonowal said that many areas in the state are still vulnerable. Real face of yeoman service pathetic

Guwahati: The BJP-led coalition government's much hyped yeoman service stands exposed with one after returnees disclosing their miseries.  The journey by bus to the state was not at all free.  The quarantine in hotels in Guwahati lack basic facilities.  That too for Rs.5000. 3 more test COVID19 positive

Guwahati: Three more people in the state have tested positive in COVID19. This was what health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said in Guwahati on Friday. The trio was among the 40 others who started  Silchar from Ajmeer by a bus two days back.  Five tested positive on Thursday while the trio received confirmation report on Friday.

Guwahati likely to slip into orange zone
