Adya shraddha of Mintu Deuri held
The adya shraddha of Mintu Deuri, who was killed in police firing while protesting shifting of the proposed AIIMS from Raha to Changsari, at Raha chariali on July 15 was held at Mahendra Nath Hazarika memorial hall premises here today under the initiative of Raha Anchalik Chatra Santha , AJYCP Raha unit, All Tiwa Students' Union ( ATSU ) , and MASS Raha unit.
On this occasion a memorial meeting was also held. In the meeting Hirannya Narayan Bora, president , AIIMS Demand Committee , Anup Chetia, Ex General Secretary ULFA , Journalist Biren Bhatta, and Mani Madhav Mahanta , vice-president AASU narrated briefly about Mintu deuri's great death. The speakers also came down heavily on the government for using armed police forces on the agitators who demanded AIIMS at Raha on the day.
Earlier to the meeting an all religious prayer meet was held where people from all walks of life and religions took part in. The other programmes were smriti tarpan, naam prasanga, kirtan path and banti prajyalwan.

Raha, Nagaon: Assam State Transport Corporation(ASTC) bus service from Kampur to Nagaon via Kampur-Raha route was flagged off on August 30 by the divisional superintendent, Apurba Barkakati of ASTC amidst cheers of the local citizens.
