Road mishap

A person was received serious injury due to road mishap at Joypur area along JD Road under Kokrajhar PS this morning in Kokrajhar district.

The mishap took place at Joypur around 11 am where Ritu Roy,son of Jameswar Roy of Chengmari village received injury following head on collision of a motor cycle and bi-cycle. Ritu was on way to Chengmari from Kokrajhar town when mishap took place. Both motor cycle and bi-cycle met mishap and he hospitalized in the incident.

Ritu was immediately rushed to Kokrajhar RNB Civil Hospital, who received multiple injuries on his head, body and legs.

Ganja smuggler sustained bullet injuies

KOKRAJHAR: A Ganja smuggler was shot at by police in the Bishmuri area of Kokrajhar district late Wednesday night. The incident happened  in Kokrajhar in Bishmuri. The victim was rushed to the RNB civil hospital in Kokrajhar. Mukesh Kumar of Bihar was identified as the victim. KOKRAJHAR: The police nabbed three people with 91 Kgs of Ganja on Karigaon national highway in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.. The arrested persons were identified as Hasanur Rahman, Mithun Miya of Mankachar and Mukesh Kumar of Bihar. The smuggled Ganja was bound for Bihar from Agartala in a Scorpio vehicle, bearing registration no.BR 11V-7551.

Hagrama Mohilary, BPF chief, released on bail

BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar. Pramod Boro, the president of the United People’s Party of Luwahati, filed a complaint against  Mohilary, the former chief of Bodoland Territorial Council, at the court of CJM Kokrajhar for making derogatory remarks about him in February 2020. KOKRAJHAR: Two people were killed on the spot in a late-night road accident in Balajan Pakriguri under Kokrajhar police station. According to police, two people were travelling on a bike and met with mishaps that claimed two people on the spot at a roadside parking dumper in Pakriguri along JD Road late at night around 2.15 am on Tuesday night under Kokrajhar police station. Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district. Lightning kills 3 in Chirang

At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon. According to the source, three persons have died and several other people from Anthaibari area received serious injuries due to heavy lightning this afternoon while people were watching a football match at Anthaibari playground. TB awareness programme held in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: For increasing the awareness about TB among pregnant mothers and adolescent girls in a meeting, Jon Andalon addressed the citizens and local health workers at Beswargaon and Guwabari Health Centres in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday.
