Illegal felling of Sal trees, deforestation would be checked

BTC Deputy Chief Kampa Borgoyary, who is also forest department in-charge said that illegal felling of Sal trees and deforestation activities would be checked with stern mesaures at a ny cost in the region to protect forest and environment.On the other hand, the World Enironment Day was also observed in Kokrajhar,heart of BTAD administration along with rest of the world on Sunday. Borgoyary,along with his wife Rashmi Borgoyary planted sapling along the JD Road at Titaguri on the occasion of World Environment Day,was jointly organised by BTC forest department,135 Battalion(Bn) eco Task Force and Second battalion of Rajput Army. Dr LR Bishnoi, Assam ADGP and BTAD(IGP) and Shyamal Prasad Saikia,SP Kokrajhar also planted saplings at Dimalgaon Reserve Police complex in the district,which was organised by Kokrajhar dsitrict police administration. Borgoyary said that the BTC administration has been taking strong measures to protect forest and environment by initiating sapling plantations across the region.Expressing serious concern over the illegally felling of Sal trees aling the Nayekgaon forest range recent,Borgoyary has urged the concern department official to take stern step against smuggling activities and involved culprits be nabbed to check illegally penetrated in the area.He also said that no any tolerance would be beared whenever it is seeing on forest atrocities.He has directed forest officials to step with strong measures and stop felling of trees and atroctoes on wildlife.

Borgoyary said, “The forest department has been stepping stern step against illegal timber smuglling along Nayekgaon Range office as well all over the region of BTAD. He asked forest officials to take protection of forest wealth at any cost”.

‘We planted sappling on the occasion with support of Eco Task Force and local peoples with building green and healthy environment in the region. We have also stepped to plant more sapplings along the educational institution,river side and road sides’,Borgoyary added.

BP Sega,CO of the Eco Task Force said that we planted several plants to make beautification of the region among human living. Segan said that we have been planted several saplings along the road side and educational institutions in the area,besides preserving natural beauty and protection of wildlife in the region since eight years last.Citizens must protect environment and share while planting trees.

Dr LR Bishoi Assam ADGP and BTAD(IGP) while planting sappling on the occasion said that police administration in the area planted sapplings to mark the day with involving police jawan and officials for making healthy environment in the world.

Bishnoi said that police administration also observed the day with planting over 1000 plants in our reserve complex and police station complexes. This is very must needed to keep green and healthy environment among human society. Shyamal Prasad Saikia,SP Kokrajhar said that all police station and outposts will be witnessed of beauty of trees because this year police adiministartion planned to plant saplings.
