Amid water tight security arrangement, the Assam Assembly is ready to begin its summer session from Monday. The city police administration has already intensified checking in the city areas and also in its entrance and exit routes.
According to information, more than two thousand additional security personnels will be deployed to man the city areas during this brief session. City police have made some changes in the routes of traffic movements from Monday. According to the traffic section of the City superintendent of police, movement of all types of vehicular traffic on the road from Supermarket point to Dispur Last gate will remain close. Vehicles coming from Basistha Chariali towards Dispur Last Gate will be diverted to G S Road from Beltola Tiniali and Joyanagar. On the other hand, vehicles coming from Basistha Tiniali side towards Ganeshguri Chariali to Supermarket on G S Road and on R P Road will be withdrawn temporally. Also, City Bus and public bus stops in between Ganeshguri Chariali to Supermarket on G S Road and on R P Road will be withdrawn temporally. Parking of vehicles on G S Road from Ganeshguri to Supermarket on Sixty Feet Road, on R P Road and on the road behind the MLA Hostel will not be allowed to run. Besides, vehicles bound for Beltola via Last Gate will run through G S Road, Supermarket and IG Prison Office point and on Joyanagar Road. On the other hand, Hatigaon and Kahilipara bound vehicles from Paltanbazar side will run through the Service Road of the Ganeshguri Flyover, R P Road, and vice versa. Moreover, the slow moving vehicles will be restricted at Rukminigaon Tiniali, Dispur Last Gate, Jatia Faguna rabha Tiniali, Hatigaon Lakhimi Tiniali, Nayanpur, Hengrabari Public Health, Down Town Road, and Supermarket respectively.
Notably, the intensified security arrangement is being made in view of the blast one at Kumarikata along Indo-Bhutan border and another at Nagaon town just before the commencement of the Assembly session. Notably, a powerful bomb was recovered in Barpeta a few a days back.
