AASAA bandh cripples Tangla

The normal life was ground to halt at the buisiness and educational town of Udalguri district due to the 12 hour bandh called by All Adivasi Students' Association of Assam (AASAA) in protest against the killing of 11 persons at Pengeri in Tinsukia . All Private educational institutes, major markets and business centers were closed while private vehicles were seen plying across the road. No  untoward incident was reported in the district till the filling of this report in the evening.

The wild elephant continues to create terror and trample humans creating fear and panic among the border populace. UDALGURI: Based on specific input the security forces in a joint operation apprehended a NDFB (S) cadre from No. 2 Merabil area under Mazbat PS in Udalguri on Monday evening. UDALGURI: A 30-year-old man allegedly hacked his father to death at their house in Barangabari near Dimakuchi in Udalguri district on Saturday night over a trivial dispute. The family members informed the police and handed over the accused.Reportedly, a heated argument ensued  between the deceased Byartha Kujur and accused Santosh Kujur.
