Mukut Barman, noted social worker of Kokrajhar laid Laikhuta at Rashmela ground to celebrate the ‘Bishuwa Utsav’ with two-day colourful programme scheduled beginning from April 13 next in Kokrajhar.

The utsav has been organising by Bishuwa Utsav Celebration committee to mark the cultural traditions of Koch Rajbongshi community in the world.The Bishuwa is a festival of the community that keep alive of cultural traditions among society said Lakhindra Roy,president of the celebration committee.

Barman,in his speech expressed his hopeful that the utsav would be celebrated in a befitting manner where cultural troupes would showcase their cultural presentation.

Sanjit Singha,secretary,Deepunjay Roy,joint secretary of the celebration committee,noted social worker Buddeswar Roy were among others present on the day.

KOKRAJHAR: An eight-member delegation of  a special review committee on detention center, led by chairman Debojit Mukherjee visited the detention center in Kokrajhar on Tuesday. KOKRAJHAR: The National Press Day-2019 was observed in four districts of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) on Saturday. Kokrajhar Press Club and district administration jointly organised the National Press Day here at Basic Training Centre in Kokrajhar to mark the national press day. KOKRAJHAR: Indonesian paragliders have won first prizes in the first-ever Bodoland international Paragliding accuracy championship-2019. The event concluded on Thursday after four day programme at Dangdupur Hill in Kokrajhar district. 68 participants from 11 countries participated in the championship and displayed their paragliding skills. 22 foreign paragliders participanted in the event. KOKRAJHAR: The first-ever Bodoland International accuracy Paragliding championship-2019 began from Monday at Dangdupur Hill, Kokrajhar district. 68 participants, including nine countries, are participating the championship. Kokrajhar: A sea of humanity is seeing along the Samoka Irrigation sluice gate River bank to participate in the community fishing near Bishmuri in Kokrajhar district on Thursday.
