Ahinsa Yatra arriving in Kokrajhar

A massive prepraration has got underway to accord warm welcome highness shantidoot Acharya Shri Mahashraman,chief of Jainism  in Kokrajhar,who is entering the state of Assam through Srirampur on March 24 on the part of Ahinsa Yatra.

Addressing the reporters,Samani Veenit Proghya and Samani Jagath Proghya,organiser and office bearer of Jain Setamber Teraponthi Sabha,Kokrajhar told that the Ahinsa Yatra will be entering Assam through Srirampur of Kokrajhar dsitrict on March 24 where  Acharya Shri Mahashraman and several sadhus are arriving.They said that all kinds of preparations have completed so far to accord warm welcome the Yatra team in a big manner.

Acharya Shri Mahashraman will address a grand gathering on March 28 and 29 at Rashmela ground in Kokrajhar where devotees from across the state are ecpected to attend.They also appealed to all sections of communities to participate in the programme,which is a mission of building peace and integration across the world.

BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary laid foundation stones of Directorate of the Economic & Statistics and Directorate of Labour & Employment office at Baghichagaon, Kokrajhar  on Wednesday.  The Economic & Statistics office would be constructed at a cost of one crore under 2016-17 financial year while the Labour & Employment office building would be constructed amounting of 1.42 crores under 2016-17 BTC financial year.  BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary, former minister and MLA Chandan Brahma, BTC executive members Rajib Brahma, Ganesh Kochary were among others present on the function. 
Preparations to holding the 14th Bodoland Day on Wednesday on the historic Bodo Accord day celebration have so far completed at Bodofa Nwgwr, near BTC secretariat in Kokrajhar.  The celebration will begin with hoist of national tri colour flag in the morning following homage to Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma in front of BTC Secretariat.  Amit Shah, president of BJP party would grace as chief guest to mark the celebration a grand step of fourteen years of Bodo Accord.  BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary would address the celebration which will mark a grand gathering in the council.  The BTC was created through tripartite peace agreement on February 10,2003.

Security forces belonging to Police, Army and CRPF apprehended a link man of the NDFB-S in a joint operation at Shantipur area under Kachugaon PS in Kokrajhar district today. Getting information about the working of link man of the militant outfit, security forces conducted an operation in the area and able to arrest a link man, who has been working for the militant outfit organization since long years.  The arrested was identified as Biswajit Basumatary alias Bishop.  A country made riffle, five bullets was recovered from him. 
A senior second section commander of NDFB (Songbijit faction) was killed in an encounter with security forces at Ranipur area under Runikhata police station of Assam's Chirang district early this morning.  Based on a tiptop information about presence of militants, a joint team of Assam police and 7 Sikh Light Infantry launched an operation at Ranipur area since late night where an exchange of gun fire was held by 3 am early this morning and a senior section commander of NDFB-S was killed on the spot.
