Bike lifters arrested

Police arrested two gang of Bike lifter from Gutipara area under Bagribari police station in Kokrajhar district today.

A police team of Bagribari police station able to arrest the bike lifter with stolen Bajaj Pulsar 150 cc bike bearing registered no AS- 19G-1932 from a Assam police constable Gulzar Hussain of Salbari village. The bike was stolen from a police constable of Bagribari police station.

The theft were identified as Iman Ali and Sumar Ali, Duo were arrested by the police from their resident Gutipara part-II.

Shyamal Prasad Saikia,Kokrajhar SP said the theft were the most reveal theft in the area, where police able for caught them red handed today. They have been taken in police custody for further interrogation.

2 nomination papers rejected in Kokrajhar

The nomination of Salkan Murmu of Jharkhand Disom Party (JDP) and Haricharan Basumatary (Independent) found invalid and rejected during scrutiny in No. 5 Kokrajhar  Lok Sabha (ST) constituency. Kokrajhar DC and Returning Officer Nitin Khade said the nomination of Murmu and Basumatary were rejected.A total of nine candidates have filed nomination, of which seven found valid to contest in the ensuing election from Kokrajhar HPC.Kokrajhar Lok Sabha Constituency, the election to which is on April 24. The date of withdrawal is Wednesday (April 9).

16 injured in mishap

As many as 16 persons sustained injures when a bus met road mishap this morning near Champa ridge in Kokrajhar district.According to source, a bus bearing registration AS-15C-0322 was carrying supporters of Lok Sabha MP Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary coming from Baksa to attend nomination fielding at DC office in Kokrajhar.
