Mother dies in Kokrajhar

Sensation created among society after a mother died giving birth of a baby at a private Nursing Home in Kokrajhar on Saturday.

Sumita Brahma, a hand to mouth woman was admitted at a private Nursing Home on Friday and who gave birth a male baby in a caesarean section at around 9 am this morning.

However, mother could not survive and died after an hour giving birth the baby.

Family members of the Sumita alleged that mother of the baby was died due to wrong treatment of the doctors in the nursing home. They also slammed Dr A Narzary could not deliver his duty smoothly due to old age and there have been increasing deaths of mother in the nursing home.

Sumita Brahma was the mother of a 6-year-old boy and wife of Uday Brahma of village Sudempuri in Kachugaon in Kokrajhar and the newly born baby is still in ICU.

An FIR has been lodged at Kokrajhar police station in this connection under section 304 (A) IPC demanding strict action against the Nursing Home.

The United People’s Party(UPP) candidate  for Kokrajhar east Pratibha Brahma filed nomination papers to the Returing Officer at DC office in Kokrajhar on Monday. NDFB-S ultra held

Security forces apprehend a NDFB(S) cadre from Basabil area under Gossaigaon PS on Sunday in Kokrajhar district. Based on information about the presence of the militant outfit cadres in the area, a joint team of police and army launched an operation where a listed cadre of Gossaigaon platoon of the NDFB(S) was arrested along with arms. He was identified as Sanjay Narzary of Borsabil village. A pistol, two round ammunition was recovered from him.

The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has left three constituencies- Sorbhog, Rangia and Bhawanipur to the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP), its ally party.
