The 7th Annual Convention of the All BTC Bengali Youth Students’ Federation (ABBYSF) Central Committee and Udalguri district committee concluded at Tangla Model High School field with a three-day long programme from February 2 to 4. On the concluding day clothes were distributed to poor people which was followed by a cultural procession that was taken out throughout the town were people of every community participated. The procession was flagged off by Subir Das social worker from Bijni.An open session was held today which was presided over by Montu Dey President of the central committee of the student body.
Among other distinguished guests were Bikon Deka social worker,Likhon Das Ainuddin Ahmed Vice-President AAMSU, Lafiqul Islam General Secretary ABMSU, Kamali Rani Basumatari MLA Panery LAC, Maheswar Boro ex-MLA Kalaigaon LAC besides other. Speaking on the ocassion Shymal Sarkar Adiviser of the Central committee of the student body said that Bengali Hindus have sacrificed their life for the sake of nation but still Bengali's are harrassed in the name of Bangladeshi. He said the government at the centre has given Indian citizenship to Adnan Sami but had not given citizenship to Hindu refugees. Sarkar also lashed Akhil Gogoi for his protest to deport Hindu Bangladeshis. He also remarked that the political leaders who would raise their voice in Parliament for the Bengali Hindus would get their votes. He appealed every community to remain united.Young journalist and writer of Tangla Shajid Khan was also felicitated in the programme along with few other journalist.
