Six dacoits gun down at Hojai in Nagaon

Acting on a tip-off, Hojai and Lanka police, assisted by CRPF jawans led by H Neog, Circle inspector Doboka, gunned down six members of a 14 members group of dacoits on July 2 at night around 12.30 am at village Pamgaon under Lanka Police Station.

According to information the dacoits were in army camouflage dress and were forwarding towards Pamgaon irrigation canal Chariali through an irrigation drain at the time of ambush by police personnel. Police recovered six army uniforms, 2 pipeguns,1 shot-gun,1 revolver,2 sharp knives from their possession.

Later the dead bodies were sent to Nagaon Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
