Mizo Tawng Made Easy released at press club

A book penned by an Assamese technocrat turned writer AK Pathak was released at Guwahati Press Club on 28 January 2016. Eminent Assamese author and former Asom Sahitya Sabha president LN Bora released the book titled Mizo Tawng Made Easy, where the writer made an effort to make Mizo language understandable for a non-Mizo reader. Bora also pointed out that the primary language of Mizoram should be announced as a modern Indian language.

Anchored by Ms Alaka, the meeting was also addressed by writer Pu Pathak AK, journalist Nava Thakuria, resident commissioner of Mizoram House in Guwahati Lian Sang Zuala Chhakchhuak with the field secretary Rev H Lalhming Mawia.

The United Liberation Front of Asom (I) has strongly lambasted forest minister Pramila Rani Brahma alleging her conspiracy to divide the indigenous people in the name of resettlement of homeless people in the Tarani reserve forest in Tinsukia. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the rebel outfit struggling fir independence said the senseless move is bound to disturb the delicate bio diversity.
Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday took oath as the 14th President of India five days after he won the polls.  The second Dalit who takes over as the Pesident, took oath from Chief Justice of India JS Khehar, Chief Justice of India at a function in Parliament in the morning. Out going President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice president Dr Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with his cabinet colleagues and opposition party leaders were present in the function.
After a brief lull, security forces are fanning in Kokrajhar intensifying the counterinsurgency operation in the trouble torn western Assam district. Police, army and para military forces claimed to have eliminted a hardcore NDFB(S) rebel at a fierce gunbattle on Tuesday morning. According to Police, acting on an intelligence input, security forces launched a joint operation on Monday night in a remote area where the gunbattle erupted to kill the rebel.
Heavy rains and thundersquall is likely to hit hard the north eastern states on Tuesday triggering the fear of a deteriorating flood situation in Assam. According to the weather reports, the sky would be cloudy in the next 24 hours even after the premier city of Guwahati recorded a huge temperature. Pranab Mukherjee turned emotional as he delivered his farewell speech at the Central Hall of Parliament on Sunday evening. A special assembly session in Nagaland on  Friday confirmed TR zeliang’s strength two days after the former NPF leader took oath as chief minister again. Altogether 46 legislators from NPF, BJP along with a few independents voted for TR Zeliang on the floor while 11 legislators opposed thr motion at the end of a high voltage political drama in the north eastern state. Bihar governor Ram Nath Kavind is preparing to succeed Pranab Mukherjee a day after the NDA presidential candidate won the polls defeating the united opposition candidate Meira Kumar on Thursday. Kevind, who is putting in his papers as the Governor of Bihar is expected to take oath as the country’s 14th President. Assan chief minister Sarbanabda Sonowal and his counterparts in the north eastern states have congratulated Kavind who would be sworn in shortly.  Kevind got 65.65% votes in the presidential elections where 99% legislators participated in the polls held on Monday.
