Ticket tussle in BPF

Sitting BPF MLA from Kokrajhar west seat Pradip Kumar Brahma expressed his reaction just after declined to get party ticket to contest ensuing assembly election said that it was Hagrama Mohilary's decision, not PMB body of the party. 

In an exclusive interview who was declined ticket to contest election, Brahma told that he was given party ticket to contest in 2011 by party president Hagrama Mohilary and today he face declined of ticket by him, which has showed that Mohilary run the party on his will and not by the party democracy. 

He said, "When I was given party ticket in 2011 and elected to the assembly where I had to face damarage of crores of schemes as I was a first class ' A' tikadar in that time. After elected MLA I had lost several construction jobs, which are happened due to Mohilary".

Brahma said that giving ticket to Rabiram Narzary, who today unified with BPF will not be benefitting to party, as he was not belonged to Kokrajhar west constituency. His entry into BPF party will decrease party spirits as peoples are favoring to party sides, he said. 

He also expressed his gesture to contest coming election, but he did not opened his mouth this time. He simply said that he will do for the welfare of the publics as he had served during his MLA tenure. 

Supporters of MLA Brahma strongly reacted for not getting party ticket to sitting MLA said that it was unacceptable and unimagine decision over declined to a sitting MLA. Newly unified member of BPF,Rabiram Narzary's candidature declaration would meet of defeat in the election, a supporter of Brahma, who did not wish to name.

One arrested for extortion in Kokrajhar

One Pradip Basumatary (24) was arrested for extorting money from the shop owners in the heart of Kokrajhar town near Assam Oil Petrol pump on Friday. Police said that two fake NDFB (S) were demanding Rs 17 lakhs from the shop owner.Police sources said that the two extortionists came in Kokrajhar town for collecting money from the shops and had prior information about their movement.Basumatary was arrested and another Daoki escaped from the spot, police said.Police also claimed to have recovered six live ammunition from the person. Basumatary claimed that they had come to collect money from the shops.

NDFB-S alleges surrender drama

The NDFB Songbijit faction denied the three cadres were surrendered before police on Thursday in Guwahati identified as Nal Kumar Narzary @ N Nimangsa(29), Hemanta Narzary @ Lambhu(32), and niran Basumatary Sumpramary @ c Nihat(37) along with arms were not their cadres. Crack within BPF over candidate

Prohibitory order issued in Chirang district

Prohibitory order under section 144CrPC has been issued by the Addl. District Magistrate, Chirang Sailendra Kr. Das, against the every possibility of breach of peace and tranquility among the people of various communities causing danger to human life and property. Magisterial probe

A magisterial probe has been ordered into an encounter took place between security forces and suspected militants on February 13 last held at Aipoali Part II village under Runikhata police station where two persons identified as Bipul Narzary and Phunka Narzary were killed. BPF leader shot dead

A BPF party secretary of Bambrabil primary committee, Mozibur Rahman was shot dead this evening by unidentified armed miscreants at Bhurisatam under Gossaigaon police station in Kokrajhar.According to source, Rahman was shot at by two armed miscreants came on a bike while he was on way his home from Gossaigaon town and received bullets injuries on his back and stomach.He was immediately rushed to Gossaigaon civil hospital, but referred to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital and succumbed to hospital, said a senior police officer in Kokrajhar.

NDFB’s Songbijit faction on Tuesday dared the government to disclose the names of its cadres who have been remaining untraced since the Royal Army of Bhutan launched the All Clear Operation in Bhutan in 2003.In a statement sent to media, B R Ferengga who is the in-charge of the education wing of the outfit asked the authorities to disclose the whereabouts of the NDFB leaders including B Erakdao, who went missing during the 'All Clear Operation'.
