Satgari Govt. M.V school of Tangla, which celebrates and respects diversity in all its hues, and endeavours to touch the pinnacles of excellence, will rejoice to celebrate its 100 years of glorious existence. Preparation is currently under way to celebrate the historic moment with a three-day extravaganza on January 16, 17 and 18.
Established in 1907 during the pre-independence times the school located at Tangla has always been the backbone of education in earlier Darrang district and presently Udalguri districtand its surrounding areas.The colourful celebration will take off on January 16 with the unfurling of 100 school flags by the school teachers, ex-teachers, alumni and officials of the Cenetary Organising Committee.The celebration will culminate on January 18 with an open session, scheduled to be attended by Ramen Deka Member of Parliament Mangaldai Lokshabha , Santius Kujur Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha,Research scholar Ismail Hussain, Kamali Basumatari MLA Paneri LAC, Khampa Borgayari Deputy Speaker BTC,Jagadish Sarkar EM BTC,Bonjar Daimari EM BTC and others. The three-day festivity is packed with serious brainstorming sessions, rich display of culture,science exhibition.
According to the organisers the preparations have been going since months back. The three-day festivity will include host of buzzing activities like Alumni Meet,Cultural programmes,rallies,drawing competition and many other events. On January 18 a cultural night programme will be organized were popular singers Dwipen Baruah and Vreegu Kashyap will enthrall the audience. A group of comedians namely 'Maheswar Nath and his team from Mangaldai will also entertain the audience.
