Surrendered ULFA men stage demo in Delhi
The surrendered ULFA activists staged demonstration in New Delhi on Tuesday demanding inner line permit in the state apart from raising a few other issues.
At 10 in the morning, more than 50 surrendered ULFA activists thronged the Jantar Mantar in the capital and started the dharma. "We want ILP in the state. Apart from this we do demand rehabilitation of our activists at an earlier date," said a protestor.
Another protestor said, " we demand ST status for the entire state which is only the way to help Assam progress." Those who joined the national mainstream further asked the Centre to detect and deport the Bangladeshi immigrants from the state.

The Supreme Court has refused to hear the review petitions of Assam, West Bengal and Kerala on the ban on the photographs of political leaders on the government advertisments saying that it would be taken up in January as soon as the Centre files its affidavits. A bench of Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose on Tuesday declined to pass any order saying that it would hear in January the petitions including by the centre seeking the review of its verdict. A Supreme Court panel has expressed grave concern over the phenomenal rise of cattle smuggle across the Indo-Bangla border. An influential student body in Arunachal Pradesh threatened to take the resort of China in protest against the Supreme Court’s recent judgment for citizenship to the Chakma-Hajong refugees.
