Professor Yasuo Kamata from Japan spoke on "Holistic View of Religions for the Harmony of Economy and Ecology– In the Perspective of Schopenhauer Research” at a seminar organised by Dr Arati Barua on behalf of the Philosophy Department, Deshbandhu College, Delhi, and Indian division of the Schopenhauer (IDSS) on October 30 at Ghalib Auditorium in the College premise.
Assam MP Ramen Deka was a Chief Guest of the programme and he delivered his speech focusing on the harmony of Ecology and Economy. Umesh Sharma of Deshbandhu College Chaired the session.
The academic session was participated by distinguished academicians. Prof B. Devarakonda from Delhi University focused on Violence and Religion for the harmony, while Prof. R N Jha from Jawaharlal Nehru University spoke on Ecology from Upanisadic Vdantic point of view, Dr Ajay Verma, also from JNU threw light on Buddhism & Vedanta and Dr K M Pathak from Hindu College explained from Confucianism.
