AKRSU reacts to Jual

The All Koch Rajbongsi Students Union-Hiteswar Barman faction (AKRSU) strongly reacted to the reamrks of Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram that no any initiative was observed to grant Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the six ethnic communities of Assam ahead state Assembly election early next year.

The Kokrajhar district unit of AKRSU has convened an emergent meeting at Dimalgaon today in Kokrajhar and discussed on various issues including granting ST status to the Koch Rajbongsi. The students union has condemned the union minister Oram’s statement over the issues of granting ST status said that the govt has been tactically delayed their demands for political interest.

The union minister had said that no any intiative was observed to grant ST status to the six ethnic communities of Assam ahead Assembly election while attending My Home India,an interaction session recently.

The students union  has warned to take strong agitation against  govt and BJP party if their demand of granting ST status was not granted ahead Assembly election in Assam.It was informed by Mukul Barman,president of Kokrajhar district AKRSU.

A businessman was hospitalized after attacked with sharp weapon by miscreants at Champa bazaar area on Friday evening in Kokrajhar district. In a joint operation launched by the security forces from Assam Police and Army apprehended a cadre of Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) at Salakati village under Kokrajhar PS on Friday.  He was identified as Sonaram Roy of Balagaon area of Kokrajhar district. An emergency response mock drill was conducted by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Habrubari in Kokrajhar district on Friday,which was a part of offsite emergency mock on the IOCL Guwahati-Siliguri underground pipeline to test the preparedness of its emergency personnel. A live fire fighting exercise was carried out alongside the drill by Fire and Rescue Services personnel.
