Continuing its fight against the rampant corruption and mismanagement of public money by the state government, Chairperson Jan Andolan Committee (JAC) Tame Phassang divulged that state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Nabam Tuki is again misusing public money by means of nepotism.
Addressing reporters at press club today, Phasang informed that Tuki has released 35 Crore to single individual Likha Maj under Hill Transport Subsidy (HTS) for PDS items on October last and 61 crore is about to release within next few days defying the Supreme court order as the case is sub- judice and it is not the concern of state government to pay bills under HTS to the PDS contractors.
He further added, 23 crore has been also released to Minister PHED, Takam Pario under PMGSY project where as other contractors is still running for clearance of their pending bills. As per report all these public amounts are being uses for horse treading in the current political turmoil just to save his (Tuki’s) chair ‘claimed Phasang.
Enough is enough we will not tolerate anymore, crores of fund which have been released by center for development activities of state are being misused by the state government for personal benefit, added Chairman JAC while informing that a mass awareness rally will be organize from Nirjuli to the office of the Commissioner Finance on November 23 next against the state government.
‘From the tenure of first Chief Minister PK Thungan to Late Jarbom Gamlin we have not seen any such mismanagement even not heard of ‘Civil Deposit’ but it is under incumbent chief Minister Nabam Tuki we came to know about such practices which is a great concern for all of us, said former Legislator and Chairman Joint Action Committee- Lokam Tassar while extending support to schedule agitation of Jan Andolan Committee.
