Kokrajhar DC reviews NRC

Kokrajhar DC reviewed the ongoing process of verification of application forms and documents submitted by the public for inclusion in NRC in Chirang district on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner,Chirang Rupak Kumar Mazumdar while presiding over the meeting at Kajalgaon asked all the LRCRs to inform about their progress report of  digitization of NRC forms, verification of particulars and documents.

The process of digitization of forms was almost completed in the district with 100% under Sidli and Bengtal Revenue Circles and 68% under Bijni Revenue Circle. The LRCRs also reported that the process of verification of particulars recorded in the forms and documents submitted by the public had completed in the official level and they had made those ready for field verification.

Mazumdar asked the LRCRs under Bijni Revenue circle to complete the e-Form digitization within November 15 and all the works in general pertaining to NRC updating to be completed on scheduled time. The meeting also discussed on the formation of Verification Teams for verification at field level and decided to form those with the existing manpower of all LWCRs of the district and if  required with the involving of SKs, LMs and teachers for additional teams.

NDFB-S link men arrested

Security forces have intensified their combing operation against militant outfits in the region.  Three link men/over ground worker of the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Songbijit faction were apprehended by security forces in a joint operation at Ripu Reserve Forest on Sunday morning in Kokrajhar district. They were identified Sanjib Basumatary, Mirga Basumatary and Charan Basumatary. Fakiragram bazar turn into ashes

Over 15 shops along the Fakiragram main Bazar in Lower Assam’s Kokrajhar district have turned into ashes.  The fire damaged worth of nearly 50 lakhs properties following fire in gutted on Friday late night. Businessman attacked

A businessman was hospitalized after attacked with sharp weapon by miscreants at Champa bazaar area on Friday evening in Kokrajhar district. He was identified as Tamizaddin Anza ri (32) of Mozabari area. He was immediately rushed to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital and stated to be critical. Details is awaited. 

Vehicular thief arrested

Salakati police in Kokrajhar district arrested a vehicular thief late last night at Salakati rail track.  He was identified as Naba Das of Belsar in Nalbari district, who was involved with stealing of a four wheeler Mahindra pick up van bearing registration AS-16C-2207. An FIR was registered no.138/16 with Salakati police outpost in this connection, under section (u/s) 457/380/411 IPC. 

KLO ultra held

In a joint operation launched by the security forces from Assam Police and Army apprehended a cadre of Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) at Salakati village under Kokrajhar PS on Friday.  He was identified as Sonaram Roy of Balagaon area of Kokrajhar district. Mock drill in Kokrajhar

An emergency response mock drill was conducted by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Habrubari in Kokrajhar district on Friday,which was a part of offsite emergency mock on the IOCL Guwahati-Siliguri underground pipeline to test the preparedness of its emergency personnel. A live fire fighting exercise was carried out alongside the drill by Fire and Rescue Services personnel.
