since 1952 about 632 schemes has been implemented for controlling erosion and flood of Assam. But more than 31000 cores of land and property lost in the last five decades.undoubtedly corruption of rulling authority is one of the major reasons of this pathetic situation of the state.the water resource department has been focusing negligence since its very establishment.even today various corruption allegations raise against the state water resource minister Bharat Narah. but he cannot deny it.it can be said that under the aegis of Mr. Narah looting of public is prevalent.

The All Koch Rajbanshi Students Union has called for 1000-hour bandh from first of January 2008 across Assam and north Bengal in protest against the forcible entry of its striking leaders. ANLA denies involvement in Beltola incident
