since 1952 about 632 schemes has been implemented for controlling erosion and flood of Assam. But more than 31000 cores of land and property lost in the last five decades.undoubtedly corruption of rulling authority is one of the major reasons of this pathetic situation of the state.the water resource department has been focusing negligence since its very establishment.even today various corruption allegations raise against the state water resource minister Bharat Narah. but he cannot deny it.it can be said that under the aegis of Mr. Narah looting of public is prevalent.

NSCN factions met to regroup

Both NSCN factions in Nagaland are in talk to regroup for restoration of peace in the state. Talking to a private TV channel on Monday over telephone, NSCN Khaplang home minister Wanting Naga said the top guns of both the faction recently met at New Land in Dimapur to discuss the regrouping bid. He further said it will help restore permanent peace in the north eastern state adding that the incidents of violence is decreasing after the meeting. HSLC/AHM exams

3 killed in city mishaps

Three people were killed in two separate incidents in the city on Monday in Survey and Lakhi Mandir areas respectively.According to information, a speeding truck hit an auto rickshaw in the Survey area at around in the morning, leaving Ibo Pishak Singh dead. The driver of the auto rickshaw with Sanathan Tati, who was also inside the three-wheeler. Muslim Council withdraws support to AUDF

Its a significant development in Assam politics inn the run up to the panchayat polls. The All Assam Muslim Council (AAMC) has withdrawn its support from the Asom United Democratic Front (AUDF) alleging that the leadership has been running the party in a most autocratic style.The council is among the 13 organizations which formed a common platform — the Coordination Committee of the Minority Organizations (CCMO) — as the launching pad to float the AUDF just before the last Assembly elections in the State.AAMC general secretary Omar Rashid alleged that the AUDF leadership had not only neglected the council leaders but also conspired to destabilize the organization of the council.
